Notable Captures
  No way he figured
  he’d suffered
  page after page
  of Sapphic paraphrase
just to go ahead and lose
  her like this.
  Winter branches
  dredge the starlight,
  as the clause of its
  sentence implausibly
  falls, impoverishes,
  enriches the X
  that each of her dresses
  possesses. Sweet life
  device, these motifs
  mostly coalesce, each
  elegantly grasped at.
  Such sparsely charged
  study of a woman.
  Some term come to
  with loss. The whole
  time fragments
  saying hey
when I had hold of her
  we stayed put.
